We’re Jeff and Lauren McCollum, the husband-and-wife team behind LJ’s Balanced Books, a family-owned and operated business based in the Upstate of South Carolina. Our mission is to bring clarity and confidence to small business owners by keeping their finances accurate, organized, and stress-free — all while offering the personal touch only a family business can provide.
Jeff, born and raised in the Upstate, brings a strong background in mechatronics, hands-on technical experience, and financial management. He is a QuickBooks Level 2 Certified ProAdvisor who transformed his own finances from struggling to exceptional through hard work, discipline, and smart money habits. His drive and determination inspired the launch of LJ’s Balanced Books, where he now helps other business owners take control of their books and grow with confidence.
Lauren, originally from Maryville, TN, just outside Knoxville, holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee. With professional experience as a Regional Manager, Project Manager, and Teacher in both elementary and special education, she brings leadership, organization, and a heart for serving others into the business. Her ability to balance details with big-picture thinking helps ensure our clients receive not just accurate bookkeeping, but also reliable guidance and support.
At home, we’re proud parents to an eighth grader and are excited to welcome a baby girl on the way. As a family, we know firsthand how important it is to balance work, finances, and life — and that’s exactly the balance we strive to provide for our clients.
